Bullying can happen to anyone - 7 out of 10 kids say they have been bullied at some point. People might pick on you at school because of your bleeding disorder. Here's what to do.
Remember you aren't alone

Most people have to deal with a bully at some point. Whether a bully is hurting you by hitting you or by what they are saying you don’t have to put up with it!
Remember that no-one likes a bully. Even other people who aren’t being picked on aren’t impressed by bullying. People who bully usually end up with very few friends.
But why do they do it if it’s such a bad idea?
Some bullies try to get people to notice them so that they can feel big. Other bullies just copy what they have seen other people do. Remember that bullies are not clever enough to understand how bad it feels to be bullied.
Bullies usually pick on people who are different from them. Sometimes people are picked on for being smart, or for dressing differently, or because they do things differently. But sometimes there is no reason at all. The important thing to remember is that it isn’t your fault if you get bullied.
So what can you do about it?
If you get picked on because of your bleeding disorder, it could be because people are confused and don't understand. If you explain it to them, they could be really interested and will stop making a big deal of it
There are some main things you can do to sort things out if you get bullied - these are recommended by Childline.
- Don’t ignore bullying – it won’t go away on its own and it may get worse.
- Tell someone you trust – such as a teacher, parent or friend.
- Remember – it’s not your fault. No one deserves to be bullied.
Here are some other things you might want to think about:
- Keep a record – and save any nasty texts or emails that you have been sent.
- Try to stay away from the bullies or stay with a group when you don't feel safe.
-
Ask your mates to look out for you.
-
Try not to retaliate – you could get into trouble or get hurt.
-
Check your school’s anti-bullying policy. This will tell you what your school should do about bullying.
-
Try to act more confident – even if you don’t feel it.

The important thing is to remember that whatever you do don’t end up being a bully too. If you fight back by punching and kicking then you will probably end up in as much trouble as the bully. You both might end up getting hurt.
No one needs to put up with a bully's behaviour. If you or someone you know is bothered by a bully, get an adult to help. No one deserves to be bullied so follow these steps and put a stop to bullying.
'The best thing about school is that I get more attention at school and that I get to stay off school if i get a bleed.
The worst is everybody makes fun of me because of my bruising!!!'
