Ways to Get Involved
The Haemophilia Society is a membership organisation - that means it was set up by people with bleeding disorders, for people with bleeding disorders. Our board of trustees is nearly entirely made up of people who are personally affected. That's why it's so important to get involved and make your voice heard. You will help to change the future for yourself and other people with bleeding disorders.

Get Involved, Get the Best
GIGTB is our new volunteering project to help people get involved with health service planning in their area. This could mean being involved in meetings, giving your opinion on your centre or helping to make sure everyone has access to good treatment. There will be some great training and it will be good for your CV!
Volunteer
If that's not for you, why not volunteer in other ways? You could come to an event, help out on a holiday, help us develop new information and websites, give us some quotes, or star in your own film or podcast!
If you fancy some work experience in a dynamic charity, we have a regular internship programme in fundraising, communications, and services. Whatever your interest, we can find something for you.
Other people have volunteered their own talents, from film-making to overseas development - just get in touch!
Leadership Training
There are regular opportunities to access training through the Haemophilia Society. As well as this, there are several international options every year. Every two years the World Haemophilia Federation runs a Youth Leadership programme - get in touch for more details.
The Step Up, Reach Out programme also offers yearly training in the US and Canada - check it out on www.stepupreachout.net
Please let us know if you apply for any of these opportunities!
Market Research - earn some spare cash!
We are regularly contacted by companies looking to do some market research into bleeding disorders. They will usually pay for your time and travel (usually around £80 a time). It could be an interview in person or by phone and if you are under-18 your parent or carer will usually go with.
If you'd like us to let you know about these opportunties as they come up, just sign up below.
Fundraising
Why not raise awareness of bleeding disorders while raising some money for the Haemophilia Society? You could run the marathon for us, trek the Great Wall, sit in baked beans....have a look at what these people did!
